Voltage Mismatch Wattage Calculator
Running an element at a voltage other than its rating changes its heat output. Enter the element's rated wattage and voltage, plus your actual supply voltage.
Formula: actual W = rated W Γ (actual V Γ· rated V)Β². A 240V element on 208V produces about 75% of its rated wattage; a 208V element on 240V runs ~33% over and can overheat.
Get the exact element β not just the math
These figures come straight from the numbers you enter. A replacement still has to match your original element's data tag: voltage, wattage, coil dimensions, and terminals. Send us your make and model, or a photo of the old element's tag, and we'll confirm the exact part and ship it across Canada.
